spring break + birthday.
4/7/12 10:14 pmWill came down during my spring break and for my birthday. He flew in on Saturday and left the following Saturday.
Saturday, March 31.
I got up early so I could go with my dad to pick Will up at the Long Beach airport at 9:20am. His flight didn't arrive until 9:45am, however. After that we returned home and chilled until around 1pm where we were to go to my grandma's to meet up with my cousin and his wife along with my aunt and uncle. We stayed there for a while, almost until 2pm, and then drove to LA to meet up with Liza and Mikey. First we went to a macaroon shop and bought about a dozen macaroons of different flavors and then we went to Griffith Observatory. We walked around for a couple hours but didn't have time to watch a show in the planetarium. By the time we left it was getting dark out. We headed to the Santa Monica Pier and walked around looking for a place to eat but we ended up eating at an Italian restaurant across the street from the pier. Honestly it wasn't that great. After dinner we said good bye to Liza and Mikey and went to visit Nicole to share the macaroons with her. I have come to find out that I don't care for macaroons very much. So, after leaving the majority of the macaroons for Nicole and her roommate we went home. We watched Lord of the Rings 1 when we got back home.
Sunday, April 1.
We slept in on Sunday since we did a lot of running around the day before. That night we had a family dinner with grandpa and grandma at Seafood Town. We had Paradise cake at my grandparents to celebrate my birthday since I wouldn't be seeing them on the day of my birthday. Once we got back home we watched Lord of the Rings 2.
I should have written earlier because I forgot what else we did this day...
Monday, April 2.
We were scheduled to meet with Limu around 2:30pm so we left around 1:30pm I believe and ended up getting there a little before 3pm. Limu wasn't ready yet, though. It took a while before she was able to come out and meet us. Once we did meet up with her we went shopping at Ranch 99 and got Jamba Juice. Upon returning to Limu's dorm she started to make Lime noodles. We ended up eating on a box, haha. I set up my laptop so Limu could play on it. A non-lag experience since she always plays on computers with bad graphics cards. That continued for a couple hours and then we packed up to go home. Lime noodles were good and Limu enjoyed playing on my laptop so all was good. My sister gave me a game for my birthday. Rhythm Heaven for the Wii :D
Tuesday, April 3.
It was my birthday and I turned 21. Legal, omai. We got up around 9am I think and got ready to go to 6flags, which opened at 10:30am I think. We ended up getting there about half and hour to an hour late, though. The first ride we rode upon entering the park was X2. The wait was an hour and a half long but Will enjoyed the ride. It surprised him. After that we rode Viper, which had a fairly short line, followed by Ninja, which wasn't all that great. After that we rode Tatsu. Will enjoyed Tatsu even more than X2, surprisingly enough. I personally prefer X2. The wait for Tatsu was an hour, I think. After Tatsu we went to ride Apocalypse, a newer ride I hadn't ridden before. It was alright. The wait was longer than we thought it'd be. We were thinking of riding Green Lantern, but after seeing it we decided not to. So, instead, we went over to ride Scream. I had forgotten I had ridden it before. That was the ride we ended with because it was nearly 6pm. We checked X2 a last time to see how the line was but it was still ridiculously long so we returned to the car. We left early because it'd take an hour or so until we reached Sango for dinner. I got my usual katsu donburi and Will got katsu curry. On the side we got an order of California rolls and Spider rolls. I didn't care too much for the Spider rolls, though. We ate while we watched Lord of the Rings 3.
The map we got to navigate 6flags got so torn and tattered throughout the day I had to tape it back together for fear it'd fall into pieces D:
Wednesday, April 4.
This was our relax day after all the walking we did the day before. Honestly I don't remember what we did. Most likely watched anime and played Rhythm Heaven.
Again, I should've written earlier :C
Thursday, April 5.
I think we just chilled until it was time to meet up with Will's parents and sister for dinner. We drove out to Beverly Hills and got there a little before 6pm and waited at the restaurant, The Grill on the Alley, until they got there. I had crab cakes, which I found I don't care too much for, either, and Will had some sort of fish thing. For dessert I had strawberry shortcake. The shortcake was hard but overall it was good. The sauce was especially tasty. After dinner we said our goodbyes and went home for the night.
These entries are getting pretty short...
Friday, April 6.
Will wanted to cook at least once while he was down visiting so this day was that day. We went shopping at Vons for ingredients (and pickles 8D) and started cooking as soon as we got back around 7pm. Dinner consisted of stuffed mushrooms and mushroom risotto. I enjoy peeling garlic, despite being slow at it. I don't enjoy washing mushrooms; I feel like I'm destroying them D: The risotto was alright, I guess. The grains of rice were kind of hard so they were bothering me. The stuffed mushrooms, however, were really good. I don't remember everything he put in them but they had cream cheese, bacon, and mushroom bits inside. They were good. We watched Katanagatari while we ate.
Saturday, April 7.
We played Dragon Nest for the majority of the day until it was time to go to dinner. We left around 5pm and arrived at the restaurant at approximately 5:40pm. The restaurant was a Chinese restaurant by the name of Golden Pheasant and was located in Torrance. The food was surprisingly good despite it being kind of small. I didn't care too much for the soup, though. The soup was fish maw and crab, or something like that. Aside from that they ordered fried rice, fried noodles, salt and pepper fish, hot pot beef and vegetables, and some shrimp thing. After dinner we went to Mitsuwa and walked around. Nicole's roommate and myself were the only people that bought anything, I think. Once that was done I said goodbye to his parents and sister and said goodbye to Will. Then I drove home and got on the computer... |D
We watched a bit of Steins Gate and a bit of Katanagatari throughout the week. Next time I'll write each entry after each day...
